Opening Plenary: 2nd International Conference

Watch the opening session of the 2nd International Conference on Evaluating Climate Change and Development. The plenary was inaugurated by Juha I. Uitto (Global Environmental Facility Independent Evaluation Office) together with Monika Egger Kissling (Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation) and Chizuru Aoki (Representative of CEO of Global Environmental Facility). The opening session was followed by a key note speech by Andrew Steer (World Resource Institute).

Under the umbrella of the Climate-Eval Community of Practice, the conference brought evaluation professionals, academics, policymakers and other stakeholders from developed and developing countries together with the purpose of fostering the exchange of ideas and methods to evaluate climate change and sustainable development.

 

Opening Plenary: 2nd International Conference - Keynote Speech

Follow Andrew Steers keynote speech and learn about the challenges and responsibilities of climate change evaluators. The president of the World Resource Institute gives an overview about the economics of climate change and the “New Ball Game” evaluators have to face.

Plenary II: The 5th Overall Performance Study of the GEF

In this plenary session Cheryl Gray, Inter America Development Bank (IADB) and Rob D. van den Berg, International Development Evaluation Association (IDEAS) discuss the findings and challenges of the Fifth Overall Performance Study of the GEF.

Special Plenary: 2nd International Conference - Lessons Learned from evaluating Climate Finance

Caroline Heider (Independent Evaluation Group, World Bank Group) moderated a session on lessons learned from evaluating climate finance. Ken Chomitz (Independent Evaluation Group, World Bank Group) gave the key note address, while Rob D. van den Berg (International Development Evaluation Association), Mark Wagner (ICF International) and Dorte Verner (Inter-American Development Bank) were discussants.

Closing Plenary: 2nd International Conference
