Madeleine is Principal and Founder of Bright Impact, an independent consultancy advising private philanthropies, non-profit organizations and multi-lateral agencies on measuring their social and environmental impacts. In September 2021, she starts a new role as Senior Officer for Learning and Impact at Hillspire, the family office of Eric and Wendy Schmidt. Previously, she was Director of Impact and Learning at Vulcan, advising philanthropic investments and technology products by the late Paul G. Allen in areas of wildlife conservation, climate change, communities, education, arts and culture. Originally from London, she has a Ph.D. in program evaluation from the University of Queensland, Australia and has published widely on evidence-based policies and programs. Madeleine lives in San Francisco, CA with her family.
